Skeleton Experience with Amy Williams

Join Amy for an adrenalin-fuelled day at the Innsbruck Olympic Bobsleigh and Skeleton track. Experience an exhilarating ride on the track as a passenger in a four-man bobsleigh, walk the track with Amy and under her expert guidance, experience the ultimate winter sports thrill by taking on the course individually, face-first, on a skeleton.

"After 48.32 of the most thrilling seconds of my life, I reach the finish, utterly shell-shocked, feeling as though I've been inside a washing machine on a spin cycle. I'm totally, utterly exhilarated, and once my pulse drops below 120 bpm, I experience an irresistible urge to return to the start for my final go..."

The landmark mountain and village of Igls are only a 15 minute drive to the south east of Innsbruck. As well as being the closest ski area to the town and home to a renowned downhill course, Igls is also home to the Olympic sliding centre.

The 1270m track was built in 1975 for the Winter Olympics the following year and was the first artificially refrigerated bobsleigh, luge and skeleton run, serving as a model for other tracks around the world; it is now a popular training centre for professional teams of all sliding disciplines.

Amy has trained and competed on the track for ten years so knows it very well as the safest and probably the easiest track on the skeleton circuit - she was the coach for the celebrities that took on the Igls track on the 2014 Channel 4 show The Jump.
